Randy Orton is going into "enemy territory," says WWE legend
Randy Orton showed up on WWE RAW out of nowhere but with clear intentions. He challenged the new World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther to a title bout at Bash in Berlin.
Triple H had earlier spoken about the controversial finish to the King of the Ring Tournament final between Orton and Gunther and wanted to see the two stars in a rematch. The Viper was wise enough to cash in on The Game's words when the time was ripe. Wrestling legend, Tommy Dreamer, who is a big fan of both athletes gave his input regarding the rematch.
Gunther had expressed his sentiments regarding a premium live event in Germany, stating that it was possible today because there were German athletes signed to WWE. Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Dreamer pointed to how The Ring General was likely to be the heavy favorite at Bash in Berlin and that The Viper was walking into "enemy territory." He also noted that he hoped the two did not switch characters for the sake of the event in Berlin itself.
"Randy Orton [is] going into enemy territory, like I said, because I think Gunther will get an amazing reaction. But I would love to see Gunther be what he's supposed to be in a heel, and Randy will just kind of work Randy style, which is amazing," Dreamer said. "Those two guys will have an epic, epic battle." The duo tore the house down last time in a match that ended in controversy as Gunther used a crucifix pinfall on Randy Orton for the victory but the latter's shoulders were not on the mat.
Tommy Dreamer hopes Randy Orton and Gunther do not get into a physical altercation on WWE RAW
Bash in Berlin is set to emanate from the Uber Arena on August 31 in Berlin, Germany.
Tommy Dreamer touched upon how The Legend Killer and The Ring General were as performers and the fact that they had already wrestled a match in WWE. However, they should not brawl ahead of the first event in Germany, according to the wrestling legend.
"I do not want to see them touch," Dreamer said. "I don't want to see an RKO out of nowhere on GUNTHER until maybe the go-home episode [of 'Raw']. Or he's come so close, because once that happens, you know it's going to be over. Those two guys had a great match, and I look forward to the rematch." [H/T: Wrestling Inc.]
