Randy Orton reacted to a WWE star forgetting his lines during a promo; sent the star an immediate message
Randy Orton is known for being notorious within WWE in the past. The star has always had somewhat of a reputation for being a straight talker. He reacted after a WWE star forgot his lines during a segment and improvised in the oddest manner.
Two years ago, Matt Riddle was in a segment with Asuka backstage, where he was supposed to cut a promo. However, mid-way through his promo, he said he had forgotten what he was supposed to say and had left. This was live, and the star assumed he would be in trouble, thanks to this segment.
Speaking on Barstool Rasslin' podcast, Matt Riddle said that he was worried when that happened and thought that things would not go well for him.
"Later on, I did a promo with Asuka, where I forgot my lines. I had this long segment about talking about robots in Japan, and I forgot it. I didn’t know we were live; I thought we were recording. When I did that, I was like, ‘Oh no, I’m probably in trouble.’" (18:24 - 18:49)
However, when he finally headed back to the locker room, the first person he met was Randy Orton. He said that he didn't know if Riddle's promo of forgetting his lines was planned, but he said that it was the funniest thing that he had done. This was followed by Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard, who also complimented him for it.
"When I went to the locker room the first person that said anything was Randy. He goes, ‘I don’t know if that sh*t was planned, kid, but that was the funniest sh** you’ve done since you’ve been here. That was your best promo yet.’ I was like ‘Well, at least Randy liked it.’ and then Vince and Bruce and everybody else that was in creative also enjoyed it.” (18:50 - 19:08)
Randy Orton has a big rivalry right now in WWE
Randy Orton is currently working with Kevin Owens in WWE. He was written off SmackDown last week after being hit with a piledriver.
Randy Orton has a big rivalry going on, but there's no certainty when he will be back. The two stars have been active in their feud, but it's assumed he'll be back by the Royal Rumble event.
Fans will have to wait to see what the former champion does next and whether he pays Owens back.
