Randy Orton's new team gets named before WWE SmackDown after his old partner splits with him
Randy Orton has been making big moves since last week's WWE SmackDown, where he was attacked and left in need of doctors. Before this week's episode, though, the star's new team already has a name.
Heading into 2024, Randy Orton found The Bloodline one of his biggest oppositions. The star has been battling with the faction for some time now, and for large parts of it, his teammate was none other than Kevin Owens and later Cody Rhodes. However, after his team split last week when Owens attacked him backstage following a punch, the star is expected to address the issue on SmackDown. Till then, though, he got a new team in the form of DIY.
DIY's Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano have been regularly teaming with Orton in the WWE live events taking on The Bloodline during the UK tour recently. The star formed a new team, and it has been successful.
Now that the UK tour is over, Gargano revealed the name of the group, calling it DIYRKO.
"CARDIFF LIVERPOOL NEWCASTLE MANCHESTER THANK YOU! 🫡🫶 #DIYRKO"
It remains to be seen if the faction will continue heading into SmackDown this week or if it remains primarily a live event feature.
Randy Orton has a big rivalry to resolve on WWE SmackDown
The Viper is not someone who gets attacked and then quietly lets it go. The star is anything but understanding - especially when it comes to something like a betrayal. As a result, with Kevin Owens attacking him, the star will likely be heavily involved in a feud with his former partner.
The two of them are likely to be the main story going forward from here on SmackDown, but it also remains to be seen what role Cody Rhodes plays in it, given that Owens is upset with him for teaming with Roman Reigns.
