WWE News: Randy Orton speaks about the heat between Jim Cornette and the WWE
What’s the story?
Randy Orton spoke to IGN in a recent interview where the Viper talked about several issues including his Summerslam matchup with Brock Lesnar, the popularity of the RKO and much more.
The interview was done to promote WrestleMania 33 in Orlando which is being touted as the Ultimate Thrill Ride.
In case you didn’t know...
Randy and Wyatt’s rivalry turned into a personal enmity when Randy Orton burned up the Wyatt Family compound. Orton took it upon himself to destroy Bray Wyatt by incinerating Wyatt’s house and effectively destroying the “soul” of Sister Abigail.
Bray Wyatt responded to Orton a couple of weeks later, when he announced that he had absorbed the wickedness of Sister Abigail and he would bring Orton to justice for the blasphemous acts that he had committed.
The heart of the matter
Orton said that he was off to a shaky start after his return in July last year. He pointed out that his match with Lesnar at SummerSlam had left him bloodied and concussed. He pointed out that he took a back seat after that.
Orton mentioned that he had enjoyed himself working with the Wyatts. He also stated that he was glad that Kurt Angle was being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Orton also felt that Jim Cornette inducting the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express would be another entertaining thing to watch.

He joked about bringing some popcorn to the Hall of Fame ceremony just to watch Jim Cornette go all out with a live microphone. Orton said that he might even carry a flask with some ‘good stuff’ in his pocket.
He said that there was always some heat between Jim Cornette and the WWE management team, and the fact that he was being brought back for the Hall of Fame ceremony spoke volumes about Vince McMahon’s willingness to do what was best for business.
What’s next?
Things will get serious as Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton will finally get their hands on each other at the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All.’ The New Face of Fear, Bray Wyatt had promised to avenge the desecration of Sister Abigail’s grave when he claimed that he was more powerful than ever.
Author's Take
The Viper will have to go out all guns blazing if he has any hopes of winning the WWE Championship at the ‘Showcase of Immortals.’
Randy missed last year’s WrestleMania due to an injury, and he will be looking to leave a mark at this year’s event in Orlando by bringing home the gold for the thirteenth time in his career.
