Raquel Rodriguez shares update ahead of rumored WWE return
Raquel Rodriguez shared an update today on social media ahead of tonight's edition of WWE SmackDown in Seattle, Washington. The former champion has not competed in a match since her victory over Chelsea Green on the February 26 edition of WWE RAW.
Rodriguez has been on hiatus for the past several months due to mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS). She has been providing fans with updates as she deals with the condition, but is rumored to be returning to action soon.
The 33-year-old took to social media ahead of tonight's edition of SmackDown and shared a one-word message. She also included several photographs of herself, as seen in the Instagram post below.
"Stillness ☀️," she wrote.
Raquel Rodriguez is a former NXT Women's Champion but has never won a singles title on the main roster. She is a three-time Women's Tag Team Champion, capturing the titles once with former WWE Superstar Aliyah and twice with current Women's World Champion Liv Morgan.
WWE star Raquel Rodriguez sends emotional message
Raquel Rodriguez sent an emotional message earlier this year discussing mast cell activation syndrome and what returning to the ring meant to her.
Rodriguez was on hiatus for a few months before returning in February for a week. She qualified for the Women's Elimination Chamber match but came up short at the Premium Live Event on February 24. Following her return to the ring earlier this year, the veteran shared what it meant to her in an emotional post on Instagram.
"Being able to get back in the ring Monday meant so much to me. This has been a long couple of months. This didn’t just take a toll on my body but it took a big hit to my mental health. I isolated myself and I’m grateful I had people who love me around me to be there with me as I questioned my self worth and my future. Some blood work came back with mold and toxin poisoning that caused such a big reactions and flare up. I didn’t realize how hard it would be to work through this and not stress when it is difficult to look at yourself and not recognize what you see in the mirror," wrote Raquel Rodriguez.
