Raquel Rodriguez takes shot at WWE champion amid return speculation

Raquel Rodriguez took a shot at a current WWE champion amid speculation about her return. The veteran has not competed in a match since defeating Chelsea Green on February 26, 2024, edition of RAW.

Rodriguez has missed several months of action after being diagnosed with Mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS). However, there have been recent rumors that the former champion could be returning to television soon. The former NXT Women's Champion battled Nia Jax on October 9, 2023, edition of RAW.

She left a face print on Jax's ring attire during the match, and a fan recreated The Irresistible Force's attire on the WWE 2K24 video game. The current WWE Women's Champion shared the fan's custom design on her Instagram story, and Rodriguez reacted by taking a shot at the Nia.

"Just wanted to make sure you wouldn't forget that a** whooping," wrote Raquel Rodriguez.

Dutch Mantell pitches interesting twist for upcoming match on WWE SmackDown

Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell recently pitched an interesting twist for Nia Jax's match this Friday night on SmackDown.

The WWE Women's Champion will be teaming up with Tiffany Stratton to battle Naomi and Bayley in a tag team match. If either The Role Model or The Glow get pinned, they have to leave the blue brand. However, if either of them pick up the pinfall, they will earn a title match against Nia Jax.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk show, Mantell suggested a controversial finish for this Friday's SmackDown. The legend stated that Naomi and Bayley could win at the same time, and the fans would then vote to decide which star gets the title shot.

"What if they had a double pin, both of them on top of Nia or Tiffany and they get one-two-three? So who gets the win? Then put it up to fan votes and just throw it out there. Involve the fans in this and have one winner and you see where the support is," he said. [From 1:01:35 onward]

Raquel Rodriguez is a former NXT Women's Champion but has never won a singles title on the main roster. Only time will tell when Rodriguez will make her return to the company.
