Real-life Bloodline member makes shocking claim about CM Punk’s RAW promo (Exclusive)
It has come down to this for WWE Superstar CM Punk — there were no smiles and interactions with fans on Monday's episode of RAW but a tone-deaf promo directed at Drew McIntyre. Afa Anoa'i Jr. felt the whole thing was a "drag."
The Chicago native kicked off RAW, elaborating on what he plans to do to The Scottish Warrior at Bad Blood. The two are set to headline the event, as per its tradition, inside Hell in a Cell.
Speaking exclusively with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Afa noted how CM Punk did not care about the show or its viewers as his dark promo did not kick off RAW as high as it was supposed to. Instead, he felt it was "monotone":
"Yeah, how did you like that one? That one was a little monotone for me," Afa Anoa'i, Jr. began. "I mean, Punk's a great promo guy and all, but just that, the whole seriousness, it just felt like a drag too much."
Wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer discussed the chances of either man at Bad Blood, claiming that Drew McIntyre could pull off a babyface turn at the event.
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray stresses why CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre needs to deliver
During the Chicago native's promo, he stated that he will not make promises he cannot keep, but one thing he can assure is that Drew McIntyre will bleed.
Taking this into account, Bully Ray feels that Punk's promo has put the upcoming Hell in a Cell Match in a tough spot. He addressed past renditions, especially in recent times, when WWE opted for several gimmicks - the "toolbox," for instance, and Ray expressed his disdain for it.
"You gotta kind of have deliver on this. When it comes to this cell match between Drew and Punk, I hope it just comes down to the two men and their fists and the cage, the cell as the gimmick."
CM Punk has a 2-3 win-loss track record under the iconic stipulation, while Drew McIntyre has lost both times he stepped foot inside Hell in a Cell.
