Real-life Bloodline member “not surprised” by Jacob Fatu’s WWE transition

The Bloodline's newest edition, Jacob Fatu, has been one of the most dominant superstars on the roster. WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, however, believes that The Samoan Werewolf is being pushed too fast and is not surprised with Fatu's rise in the promotion.

The 32-year-old made his WWE debut on the June 21 edition of Friday Night SmackDown and became Solo Sikoa's personal Enforcer. Fatu has been nearly unstoppable every single time he has stepped inside the squared circle.

On a recent edition of his Off The Top Podcast, Rikishi, the real-life uncle of Jacob Fatu, talked about how he was not surprised with The Bloodline member recent push. The veteran suggested WWE builds him by putting him in squash matches and running through the roster before facing the top superstars.

"I’m not surprised. Again, it goes down to where, this is my humble opinion, I think Jacob’s being pushed too fast. When you go to Cody, where do you go from there? Cody is the guy right now. I’ve said this before, let Jacob rampage through the whole roster, [and] give him those enhancement matches to build him. We’ve seen Jacob, however long he’s been on, but is there anything different? You can only do so much on a run-in. This is me. This is what I’m saying. You really want to go with a guy, show his talent. Put him out there, let him have a match match, a squash match, just so he can show his potential of what else this kid can do," he said. [H/T: Fightful]

Rikishi explains why Jacob Fatu should not face Cody Rhodes right now

On the Smackdown following Bash in Berlin, Cody Rhodes claimed that Jacob Fatu deserves a shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship more than Solo Sikoa. Although the wrestling promotion has not announced a singles match between The American Nightmare and The Samoan Werewolf, the two will compete in a tag team match at Bad Blood.

During the same episode of aforementioned podcast, Rikishi stated it was not yet the right time to have Jacob Fatu and Cody Rhodes compete in a main event. The 58-year-old pointed out that given Cody's status, he could face anyone, but a match against the former AEW star wouldn't do much for The Bloodline member.

"I just feel if it was me, I wouldn’t feed Jacob to Cody. That match is not deserving yet to happen. Where do you go [after that]? Normally, when you see a guy being fed to the top guy so fast, we only know one thing was going to happen. It’s an enhancement match for the person, whoever’s on top. I just don’t think that Jacob’s the guy for that right now. It doesn’t do Jacob any good. Cody’s branded. It doesn’t matter who Cody goes with. But if you throw a guy like Jacob there, what does that do for Jacob? Wrestling fans, we’re all smart, and those that are putting this thing together, I think they’d make a mistake [if they] put Jacob in a main event with Cody so fast. So let’s just hope that things change," he said. [H/T: Fightful]
