Real-life Bloodline member targets Cody Rhodes ahead of potential WWE return (Exclusive)
For Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, perhaps The Bloodline is an enemy for life. First, it was Roman Reigns. Then, Solo Sikoa took over. And now, Afa Anoa'i, Jr. has teased a future storyline.
Afa Anoa'i, Jr. was part of the WWE roster once upon a time, where he competed under the in-ring, Manu. Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Jr., and Randy Orton left him and WWE legend Jimmy Snuka's son, Sim Snuka, behind to establish The Legacy.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Enter The Bloodline, Afa Anoa'i, Jr. pointed to how things were not "too favorable" for him when he and Rhodes joined forces back then. This is why, when asked who he wishes to step into the ring with today from any promotion, he named The American Nightmare:
"I'd like to get in there with Cody," Afa Anoa'i Jr. said after excluding every Anoa'i family member. "Because we have a history together. And last time I've seen him in the ring, it wasn't too favorable on my end. So, I think we could tell a good story there." [From 18:24 to 18:42]
As Manu, Afa Anoa'i, Jr. was one of Legacy's original members. However, WWE moved on with the group as a trio. They went on to find great success as a unit between 2009 to 2010.
Afa Anoa'i Jr. genuinely believes their paths will cross, Cody Rhodes sides with a Bloodline member
Although newer fans will not be familiar with his history with Cody Rhodes, Afa Anoa'i Jr. noted, he truly believes it is "very possible" that WWE could put them together down the road.
The American Nightmare, at the time, had betrayed Manu, who wound up getting released by the company in February 2009:
"It's very possible, you know. The wrestling historian will put that together immediately. The new school people, they might need a history lesson. But, yeah, I feel like our paths will cross one day," he said. [From 22:56 to 23:14]
Meanwhile, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis has booked Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns together against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at WWE Bad Blood. The show emanates from The American Nightmare's home state of Georgia.
