Reason why new SmackDown General Manager picked Kevin Owens for huge trade in WWE
Newly appointed WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis has revealed why he picked Kevin Owens for the massive trade from Monday Night RAW.
Triple H made an important announcement during his latest appearance on WWE television, where he appointed new General Managers for both brands. He revealed that Adam Pearce will take over RAW while Nick Aldis will be in charge of SmackDown.
Aldis stunned the WWE Universe by revealing Kevin Owens as the newest SmackDown Superstar in exchange for Jey Uso's move to RAW. He later revealed the reasons for his choice in a backstage interview.
Nick Aldis stated that Jey Uso is a top-tier talent, which narrowed the pool of options for trade. He wanted to fulfill his responsibility towards the SmackDown fans by bringing in someone who could replace the former Bloodline member's caliber on the roster. Aldis said:
"Onto the business at hand, there was a trade. As many people know, Jey Uso found his way to Monday Night RAW. So, my first order of business was to select and negotiate for the trading kind. Now, Jey Uso is a top, top-tier talent, so that kind of narrows the field as to who would be eligible. For me, as a GM, the most important responsibility I have is to the SmackDown audience. So, I knew that SmackDown fans would only tolerate a very, very small number of talent to be eligible to replace the talent of Jey Uso’s caliber," he added. [From 01:05 to 01:53]

Kevin Owens stuns current champion on WWE SmackDown
Fans were thrilled to see Kevin Owens on SmackDown, where he instantly shut down a top heel. Triple H, Adam Pearce, and Nick Aldis were trying hard to keep Dominik Mysterio from clouding the announcement. However, the NXT North American Champion arrogantly stated That The Judgment Day is more important than the trade, and he would slap the incoming star to showcase dominance.
However, the champion would quickly regret his words as Kevin Owens walked out to a huge pop on the show. Fans went into a frenzy as KO made his way to the ring, where he immediately greeted Dominik Mysteiro with a Stunner. Interestingly, Roman Reigns was not too happy about seeing Kevin Owens back on the same show as well.
