Recent WWE signing surprisingly announced for upcoming shows

WWE is set for a series of upcoming shows that are already making headlines. After a viral talent acquisition, a surprising news update was just issued to reveal the upcoming debut.

Stephanie Vaquer signed with World Wrestling Entertainment this week. AEW had also made an offer, and Tony Khan's company was reportedly upset with her decision. The Stamford-based promotion was interested in the 15-year veteran after her recent Forbidden Door loss to Mercedes Moné, where she dropped the NJPW Strong Women's Championship.

Vaquer was the CMLL World Women's Champion and one-half of the inaugural Women's Tag Team Champions when she decided to leave NJPW and CMLL this week, citing personal reasons, and was stripped of both titles.

La Primera is set to make her WWE debut this weekend. It was just announced that the 31-year-old will appear at Saturday's show in Mexico City and Sunday's event in Monterrey.

"BREAKING NEWS! Appearing LIVE in Mexico City and Monterrey this weekend, WWE's newly signed, @Steph_Vaquer! Visit [URL] to get tickets [Mexican flag emoji] #SuperShows," wrote the company on X.

Officials have not confirmed if Vaquer will make her in-ring debut this weekend. She is set to report to the Performance Center in Orlando to begin her NXT journey, but a match or physical angle in Mexico this weekend could be a possibility.

Shawn Michaels welcomes Stephanie Vaquer to WWE

Stephanie Vaquer signed with World Wrestling Entertainment this week amid rumors and speculation, plus much fanfare. The Chilean grappler, who also holds Mexican citizenship, had interest from AEW but was also with CMLL and NJPW at the time.

Shawn Michaels took to X this week to confirm Vaquer's signing. The Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative welcomed La Primera to the family and indicated she is headed to Orlando soon.

"Welcome to the WWE Family, @Steph_Vaquer. See you in Orlando!" Shawn Michaels wrote with the photo below.

Vaquer was backstage for the NXT Heatwave PLE in Toronto last Sunday. It remains to be seen when she will make her official televised NXT debut, but her appearances at the shows in Mexico this weekend will likely be filmed for social media and perhaps TV.
