Released WWE star claims door is open for return; is in regular contact with Triple H
A former WWE Superstar has shared that the door was still open for him to return to the promotion and that he remains in contact with Triple H. The company is currently on the road to WWE SummerSlam, which takes place on August 3.
AJ "Top Dolla" Francis was released by the promotion last September. He is currently signed with TNA Wrestling and has been given an opportunity to show his skills.
In an interview on The Angle Podcast, the 34-year-old was asked if there was a possibility he could return to the Stamford-based company and he suggested that the door was still open. Top Dolla also mentioned that he spoke with both Triple H and Paul Heyman the previous week.
“Yeah, I mean I talked to Paul Heyman and Triple H last week. I still am in communication with everybody there. The thing is, I’m just doing my own thing right now. Before, if you thought that I was just the heavy big man in a crew and just stand there and look big and be that person in Hit Row, if you thought that, you were wrong then. But if you pay attention right now, you’ll see exactly how wrong you are," he said. [H/T: Fightful]
Top Dolla added that Tommy Dreamer makes sure that the former has a microphone in his hands every episode of Impact and claimed that nobody could talk better than him.
Top Dolla comments on a potential WWE return
Former Hit Row member Top Dolla has been discussing a potential return to WWE for months now.
In an exclusive interview with Riju Dasgupta of Sportskeeda Wrestling earlier this year, the TNA star claimed Triple H told him that there is a chance he could return to the company down the line. However, he noted that he appreciated the opportunities the promotion gave him but he wasn't waiting around for the chance to come again.
"I know the door to the WWE is still open. Triple H told me that himself, but at the end of the day I'm not waiting on that. I did everything that I could while I was there, and I appreciate every opportunity that they gave me. But, at the end of the day, if you don't think that you can do something with me, then I think you're wrong, and I think that I've already started to prove that. I think that I'll continue to prove that," he said. [2:55 – 3:22]
