Released WWE star has a definitive stance on in-ring retirement

WWE has a plethora of youngsters and a few veterans who bring enough star power to the product. The company has shocked fans in the past year by releasing several notable names. Two of them in recent memory were two-time WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley and his former manager, Montel Vontavious Porter.

During a virtual signing with K&S Wrestle Fest, MVP commented on his future as an in-ring competitor. The veteran's career took off in the mid-aughts when he feuded with some of the top names in the business such as Kane and The Undertaker. He also added a remarkable notch under his belt, a 343-day reign as WWE United States Champion.

Although his recent work as a wrestler has been sporadic, the veteran assured fans that his in-ring career is not over just yet. But MVP also added that when he is done, that would be it. He will ride off into the sunset with no intentions of ever coming back.

"I'm not done just yet. I have a little bit more left in the tank before I retire. I have a match in November with Josh Barnett's Bloodsport. When I hang up the boots, I will hang them up for good. I will be done. I won't be one of those guys coming back out of retirement here and there. I want to do it, like I've done my career up to this point, my way. I look forward to that day when it's all done, but we're not there yet," he said. [H/T: Fightful.com]

MVP shares disappointments with latest WWE run, discloses scrapped plans for Hurt Business reunion

In January 2020, MVP made a comeback to WWE by entering the Men's Royal Rumble Match, where he tussled with Brock Lesnar briefly before getting eliminated. Perhaps his most successful storyline ever since was with The Hurt Business, a faction consisting of Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander.

During the K&S WrestleFest, the former United States Champion revealed that WWE higher-ups "killed" The Hurt Business. Although there were plans for a reunion, which the company allegedly confirmed with the veteran, they ultimately went in another direction. Nevertheless, he has asked fans to "stay tuned" as the former stablemates are planning some things.

The veteran also discussed his pet project, Omos, who he managed after The All Mighty. He elaborated on the reason why The Nigerian Giant and he were not used on television after some high-profile contests in early 2023.
