Released WWE Superstar reveals what The Rock said after their massive segment on RAW
A former WWE Superstar has now revealed The Rock's words after their massive confrontation on Monday Night RAW.
On the Day One edition of RAW (January 1, 2024), Jinder Mahal entered the ring first, swerving the audience. However, this was just a set-up for Dwayne Johnson's surprise return. The segment featured a verbal exchange between the two men before The Final Boss laid out The Modern Day Maharaja with a People's Elbow to a thunderous ovation.
On April 20, 2024, Mahal announced his departure from WWE and shared that after 90 days he would be a free agent. The 37-year-old star had a chat with Chris Van Vliet on Insight after his release, where he spoke in length about his overall experience of sharing the ring with The Great One.
During the interview, Jinder Mahal disclosed The Rock's message after their segment on Monday Night RAW. He mentioned that Dwayne Johnson left a little Easter Egg about his involvement in the TKO Board of Directors.
"Yes, he actually kind of left a little bit of an Easter Egg. He sent me a voice note like, 'Thank you, [I] appreciate working with you, and I'll be seeing a lot more of you around now that I'm doing things all across the board with WWE,' and it didn't click in. A few days later, it did. I was like, 'Oh, that's what he [The Rock] meant by doing things all across the board,''' he said. [H/T: CVV]
How did Jinder Mahal learn about his segment with The Rock on WWE RAW?
During the same conversation, The Modern Day Maharaja spoke about how he got a call from WWE Creatives two days before the Day One edition of Monday Night RAW.
The former WWE Champion shared that only he was called in for the January 1st, 2024 episode of the red brand show, and not Indus Sher members (Sanga & Veer Mahaan). Mahal was on a flight on December 30, 2023, when he received a call from one of the writers to inform him about the segment with The Final Boss. He said:
"And actually, it was Christmas week. I was with my family in Calgary. I was flying back on the 30th, and when I was on my flight, I got a text from one of the writers, 'Hey, can you talk on the phone? I said, 'I'm in the plane for a few more hours; I'll call you when I land.' One of the writers said, 'Yeah, so we got you in the segment with The Rock!' 'Yes, hundred percent! Yeah, I'm looking forward to it!' So that's how I found out, man, one or two days before," he added. [H/T: CVV]
WWE received a massive backlash from fans after Jinder Mahal was released. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 37-year-old star. In the meantime, The Rock is on a hiatus and has promised to exact revenge on Cody Rhodes upon his much-anticipated return.
