Reported details on WWE's big plans for Chelsea Green (Exclusive)

Chelsea Green is having an incredible second run with WWE after returning in early 2023. In a Sportskeeda Wrestling Exclusive, it was reported that there are big plans for the SmackDown star.

The former TNA star has been one of WWE's most entertaining performers and a standout in the women's division. She allegedly got her job back in WWE by simply texting Triple H and it's worked out for her in a big way. She's set to face Michin (fka Mia Yim) on the October 4 episode of SmackDown. It a highly anticipated bout as both talents have been on a hot streak recently.

On WrestleVotes Radio on Backstage Pass, JoeyVotes reported that the people in power backstage love Chelsea Green and "pop" for everything that she is doing. He also said he wouldn't be surprised to see a title win in her future. TC chimed in and praised Green's social media presence and her entertaining backstage segments, where she seeks answers from WWE management.

An Ex-WWE writer thinks Chelsea Green can undergo a big change as Women's Champion

It seems like the former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion is finally being recognized for her skills. Besides the higher-ups in WWE, old backstage figures are also impressed with Green's performances.

On Sportskeeda Wrestling's BroDown on Backstage Pass, ex-WWE writer Vince Russo said he was a big "mark" for Green and believed she could get over as a babyface if she was the Women's Champion.

"The best part of the show, bro," Russo began. "I love Chelsea Green. I've made that known. I am a Chelsea Green mark. She clearly, clearly gets it. If you put that freaking belt [Women's Title] on Chelsea Green, and they don't even have her in the picture, she would get over as a huge babyface, bro." [From 39:24 to 39:49]

It will be interesting to see how WWE can take her character forward. It wouldn't be surprising to see her entertainment value translate to her success as a babyface.

However, when it comes to being a Women's Champion or Women's World Champion, one would think that she would need to shred the comedic element that's making her character successful right now. Time will tell how the future plays out for her. But all signs seem to indicate that things are bright.
