Rey Mysterio to compete in unique match for the first time in 15 years on WWE RAW

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio will be competing in a unique match tonight on RAW. This week's edition of the red brand will air live from Corpus Christi, Texas.

It was announced earlier today by RAW General Manager, Adam Pearce that there would be two Money in the Bank Qualifying Matches tonight. Mysterio will be competing against Jey Uso and The Judgment Day's Finn Balor in a Triple Threat Match.

Popular wrestling account 'WWEStats' on X (formerly Twitter) pointed out that Rey has not competed in a Triple Threat Money in the Bank Qualifying Match since 2009 against Kane and Mike Knox.

The Big Red Machine emerged victorious in the match back then. Mysterio has competed in a singles match to qualify for Money in the Bank 2020 against Murphy, now known as Buddy Matthews in AEW.

"The last time @reymysterio attempted to qualify for the #MITB Ladder Match in a Triple Threat was in 2009, when he lost in a match involving @KaneWWEand Mike Knox. (Kane won)," wrote WWEStats.

IYO SKY, Zelina Vega, and Kiana James will be competing in the other Triple Threat Match tonight to see who qualifies for the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder match next month.

Rey Mysterio reflects on being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame

Latino World Order's Rey Mysterio recently discussed his emotions after being honored at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony last year.

The Judgment Day's Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley walked out of the legend's Hall of Fame speech, but Rey Mysterio got his revenge by defeating Dirty Dom at WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles. Speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Emily Mae in an exclusive interview, Mysterio noted it was a very gratifying feeling to be inducted into the Hall of Fame after all the years of hard work.

"When you look at it, you see all the work you've put in, the years, the sacrifices, and not only yourself, what you put your family through, my wife, my kids, and it gives you the sensation that we did it," Rey Mysterio said. "We did it. It's like it's done. It's such a cool gratification feeling that I get every time I look at it." [0:52 – 1:17]

Rey Mysterio also recently pitched an interesting retirement match against his son down the line. It will be interesting to see which stars will be able to qualify for the Money in the Bank Ladder Matches during tonight's episode of RAW.
