Rey Mysterio proposes an epic final match if WWE PLE visits Mexico
WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has a dream match in mind in the aftermath of Premium Live Events going International in recent times. The masked luchador proposed a three-way potential showdown if the Stamford-based promotion brought the PLE to the south of the border in Mexico.
During a recent conversation with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT, the former World Champion revealed that his retirement is nearing its end. Mysterio questioned whether his body would manage to take bumps in the next two or three years.
Meanwhile, The Master of 619 has pitched a three-way dance in his potential last wrestling match. Speaking on INSIGHT, the former United States Champion mentioned that the Mexican crowd would go crazy if his son, Dominik Mysterio, and Santos Escobar, the formidable leader of Legado Del Fantasma stood across him in the ring:
"I think that would be a very exciting time for not only the fans, but for me to be able to go back to where I once started and give them something special. Even if it's the last one. I would love to close off in Mexico, if that were to happen," Rey Mysterio said.
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion added:
"Why not (a match against Dominik Mysterio)? It would be perfect. Hell, if you wanna get even dirtier, you can throw Dom in there, maybe Santos Escobar and myself, and the loser either takes his mask off and retires, or shaves their head off and retires. Maybe a three-way dance." [43:25 - 44:08]
Rey Mysterio claims Dominik Mysterio will be a future World Champion in WWE
The father-son duo parted ways after Dirty Dom betrayed The Master of 619 to align with the Judgment Day faction. Their on-screen rivalry escalated to a point where the two men clashed at WWE WrestleMania 39 and Rey Mysterio secured a win over his son.
Since Dominik Mysterio has been in the ring with the likes of CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and others, the masked luchador mentioned that the 27-year-old will become a WWE Champion down the line:
"Yeah, most definitely. Dom is getting really good at what he’s doing and he’s understanding the craft. The fact that he’s where he’s at with such little time, I wish I could be there, or I could have been there with four years of being in the business," Rey said.
On next week's episode of Monday Night RAW, the Judgment Day member will face the WWE Hall of Famer in a WrestleMania rematch. Fans will have to wait and see if Rey Mysterio picks another victory over his son.
