Rey Mysterio sends 5-word message about retiring from WWE seconds after reuniting with legend
Rey Mysterio has answered a question about retirement immediately after reuniting with a WWE legend. The star turned 50 recently.
Rey Mysterio and Kurt Angle reunited after a long time to watch a video of an old match where they faced one another in an old Saturday Night's Main Event. The video was posted on the WWE YouTube channel, and they were very complimentary of each other. They worked with Randy Orton and John Cena, as well as Triple H, in a two-on-three handicap match.
Speaking to Mysterio when he first saw him, Kurt Angle asked his friend when he would retire.
"When are you going to retire?" Kurt Angle asked. (00:04 - 00:05)
Mysterio sent a five-word message saying he would retire when the fans decided it was time. Given the love fans have for him and his fitness, the star may be around for a long time.
"I'll let the fans decide," Rey Mysterio responded. (00:05 - 00:07)
WWE fans have speculated that Dominik Mysterio will retire Rey Mysterio
While Mysterio does not appear to be very close to retirement yet, when the time comes, fans have speculated that it will be his own son, Dominik, who will retire him after a last match together.
The two stars have been in a never-ending feud. While they may have other angles to work on, they still take shots at one another. This feud has been ongoing since Dominik turned on his father, and both stars have had victories over one another.
They've both proven what they can do in the ring and have gotten one up on each other. There was speculation that an unmasking would retire Mysterio, with Dominik inheriting the famous mask. Given the young star's success, though, this may not happen, as he does not have a huge reason to take up his father's mask anymore.
