Rhea Ripley comments on Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer amidst WWE debut rumors
WWE Superstar Rhea Ripley recently commented on the Stamford-based promotion acquiring two top international talents in the form of Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia. The Nightmare expressed excitement about the impending arrival of these two stars, suggesting a major shift in the women's wrestling landscape.
Following Shawn Michaels' confirmation of Stephanie Vaquer's arrival, the former NJPW Strong Women's Champion made her in-ring debut at non-televised WWE live events, defeating Isla Dawn in two matches. However, Vaquer has yet to appear on TV.
Meanwhile, Giulia recently announced that she will compete in her final match in Japan on August 19, 2024. The 30-year-old star reportedly signed with the Sports Entertainment juggernaut in April 2024 and is expected to make her WWE debut following her last match in Japan.
In an interview with TV Insider, Rhea Ripley expressed her excitement about the potential television debuts of Giulia and La Primera in the Stamford-based company. Mami said that the duo's addition will majorly enhance the women's division, leading to more compelling matches and a transformative impact on both NXT and the main roster.
"I think it’s amazing. I love watching the women’s division grow and flourish. Having all these incredible women come to WWE is only going to elevate the women’s division even more. I can’t wait to see the kind of matches they put on NXT. I think they are going to be incredible. Once they come up to RAW and SmackDown, that’s where the fun begins. I’m so excited about that. I think it’s going to be a massive change for them, but a good change," Ripley said. [H/T: TV Insider]
Rhea Ripley lost at WWE SummerSlam due to a major betrayal
The Eradicator went head-to-head with Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship at SummerSlam 2024 in Cleveland. In a dramatic climax, Dominik Mysterio prevented Rhea Ripley from using a chair on The Miracle Kid.
Instead, Dirty Dom unexpectedly helped Liv retain her title, and the two shared a passionate kiss after the match, leaving the crowd stunned. Later, Dom Dom's stablemate Finn Balor backstabbed Damian Priest during The Archer of Infamy's World Heavyweight Title match against Gunther.
Meanwhile, The Terror Twins (Ripley and Priest) laid out The New Judgment Day on this week's RAW. It will be interesting to see how the saga plays out in the coming weeks.
