Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest should part ways, says WWE veteran
Over two years after The Judgment Day took WWE RAW by storm, the faction's original members Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest have been kicked out. They became world champions during this run and established their place on the flagship show as top stars. This is probably why Hall of Famer Bully Ray does not want them to continue as a unit.
On Busted Open, Bully Ray highlighted the rage Mami displayed last week when she went out to the ring and hunted down Women's World Champion Liv Morgan, only for Dominik Mysterio to make the save. He also mentioned that The Terror Twins could thrive in WWE as individuals.
"I'd like to see Priest and Rhea on their own. I hope they don't bring in anybody else on board, I like them by themselves (...) The timing and the execution of the segment, the way Rhea was able to chase down Liv like an animal hunting her prey, and then grabbing Liv and driving her into the post and knocking her out and then turning around and clearing off the table (...) Excellent execution by everybody involved."
A new report by Pro Wrestling Nexus has indicated that WWE is planning a mixed tag team match at Bash in Berlin pitting Ripley and Priest against Women's World Champion Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio.
Damian Priest opens up about his world title match at WWE SummerSlam
Although Damian Priest's reign as World Heavyweight Championship ended at the hands of Gunther at SummerSlam 2024, he hardly has anything to feel bad about. Many industry veterans and fans alike have labeled it as the best bout on the card.
In a chat with Sports Illustrated, the former Judgment Day star said both he and Gunther were not Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, CM Punk, or Drew McIntyre. According to Priest, the abovementioned talents were the top names of WWE, and despite the hierarchy, the spotlight was on him and The Ring General at The Biggest Party of the Summer this year.
"We’re not part of that class of the main guys. We’re seen as strong characters on TV, but we’re not Seth Rollins, we’re not Punk, we’re not Drew or Roman. We’re not the regularly scheduled programmed guys. AJ, Randy, Finn, we’re none of those guys. The fact it was Gunther and me in this high-profile world title match, that’s big," Priest said.
One can safely say that SummerSlam was the night Gunther was officially coronated by WWE as one of its top guys. But The Archer of Infamy's performance has earned him his place in the elite list, too.
