Rhea Ripley to headline WWE RAW in stipulation match, Adam Pearce announces
Rhea Ripley is likely to go all out on WWE RAW tonight as this is a match that has been building for months. The show's general manager Adam Pearce has made it official.
The December 9 episode of Monday Night RAW is scheduled to emanate from the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas, and the show will be headlined by Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez in an "Anything Goes" match. This means there will be no disqualifications or countouts.
Taking to Instagram, Adam Pearce made the announcement while adding that considering everything that has been going on between Ripley and Rodriguez, a regular match just won't do.
Check out Adam Pearce's announcement below:
At Bad Blood on October 5, Raquel Rodriguez returned after spending several months away from the ring owing to illness. She attacked Rhea Ripley to assist Liv Morgan. Morgan wound up retaining her belt albeit got disqualified in the process. This was the last time the former Judgment Day star got a shot at the Women's World Championship.
Rhea Ripley is not too far behind among the line of challengers for Liv Morgan
Women's World Champion Liv Morgan captured the title from Becky Lynch in May after the latter secured it in April. This was after The Man failed to dethrone Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania XL. Ripley got injured thanks to Morgan, so was forced to relinquish the title, ending her noteworthy reign at 380 days.
At Survivor Series: WarGames, the former Judgment Day star led her team to victory by pinning Liv Morgan inside the WarGames structure. It was her first technical win over Morgan since returning from injury this summer. Naturally, it could translate to a title opportunity for The Eradicator. But she will have to wait.
On the November 4 episode of WWE RAW, IYO SKY earned her shot at the Women's World Title by winning a number one contender's battle royal. The Japanese star had joined Ripley inside WarGames to take on Morgan and Rodriguez. Furthermore, Liv Morgan vs. IYO SKY with the belt on the line has been booked for Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14.
