Rhea Ripley opens up about why she betrayed Liv Morgan two years ago in WWE

WWE fans are currently following a heated rivalry between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan. These two women were once a formidable tag team, but their partnership dissolved when Ripley unexpectedly betrayed Morgan. The Nightmare recently shared her perspective on why she turned on The Miracle Kid two years ago.

On the April 18, 2022, episode of Monday Night RAW, Morgan and Ripley challenged Sasha Banks and Naomi for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. After The Boss 'N' Glow successfully defended their titles, The Eradicator unexpectedly attacked the reigning Women's World Champion, igniting a new feud between the two.

A month later, at Backlash 2022, Rhea Ripley unveiled herself as Edge’s newest disciple and became a part of The Judgment Day. During an interview with Ring The Belle before this year's SummerSlam PLE, the 27-year-old WWE star was asked why she ended her alliance with Liv Morgan.

Rhea Ripley revealed that she betrayed The Miracle Kid two years ago in WWE because she felt their bond was built on shared pain and heartbreak. She feared that their walls would eventually lead to one of them turning on the other. To protect herself from this potential heartbreak, Mami chose to join The Judgment Day and become a stronger, more assertive version of herself.

"We had walls up and we bonded over that but at the same time once we started arguing and losing I felt like both our walls were so up to the point that if I wasn't going to turn on her [Morgan], she was going to turn on me and to save myself from that absolute heartbreak, I decided that I wanted to join The Judgment Day and I want to be better because I could feel myself becoming a softer version of me and being a weaker version and I didn't like that," said Ripley. WWE star Liv Morgan has taken everything away from Rhea Ripley

Liv Morgan had a long-term plan in mind. Post WrestleMania XL, The Miracle Kid attacked Ripley backstage, forcing the latter to vacate the Women's World Championship.

The former Riott Squad member executed a perfect 'Revenge Tour', taking everything from The Nightmare. Liv Morgan not only defeated Becky Lynch to win the Women's World Title but also managed to turn Dominik Mysterio to her side at SummerSlam 2024. This strategic move led to her replacing Rhea Ripley in the reformed Judgment Day.

It remains to be seen if Rhea Ripley can recapture the Women's World Championship from Liv Morgan in the coming weeks.
