Rhea Ripley opens up about having a 'love affair' with current WWE colleague: "We've always had a special bond"

Rhea Ripley had a two-year on-screen relationship with Dominik Mysterio before the couple split at WWE SummerSlam. Meanwhile, The Nightmare has seemingly been involved in 'love affairs' with some of her other colleagues.

The Eradicator has jokingly had an internet romance with WWE backstage interviewer Cathy Kelley. The latter even dubbed herself Ripley's "ex-girlfriend." Meanwhile, the former Women's World Champion has flirted with the 35-year-old in several photos and videos posted on social media.

In a recent interview with Ring The Belle, the 27-year-old RAW star was asked how her 'love affair' with Kelley originated. The Nightmare explained that she had known Cathy for several years, and they had always had a "special bond."

"[How did this love affair with Cathy Kelley start?] You know, I don't know. I've been with Cathy since NXT. Hell, I think since NXT UK as well. She interviewed me at the Evolution junket, I'm fairly certain. So, I've known her for a long long time, and we've always had a special bond. I love her. She's always there for me, and she's always a Mami supporter," she said. [2:40-3:02]

What did Cathy Kelley trick Rhea Ripley into saying ahead of WWE Bash in Berlin?

Ahead of WWE Bash in Berlin last week, Cathy Kelley filmed a video with Rhea Ripley in which she attempted to teach The Eradicator some German phrases. However, the backstage interviewer seemingly had an ulterior motive.

As Kelley asked Ripley to repeat German phrases after her, the 35-year-old tricked Mami into confessing her love. She also made the former Women's World Champion address her as the Australian's wife. While The Eradicator seemed to have no idea what she just said, the backstage interviewer looked excited.

Ripley has a close friendship with Kelley and Samantha Irvin in real life. Kelley recently posted a photo of them three together, claiming they are the best group of girlfriends since UPN in the early 2000s.
