Rhea Ripley's potential absurd storyline with male WWE star upon return, 56-year-old veteran weighs in

For the second time in 2024, Rhea Ripley is forced to take a break from the ring owing to injuries. Perhaps she is looking to make the next recovery sooner than the last. In the meantime, the idea of Ripley facing longtime boyfriend and now rival Dominik Mysterio has surfaced.

WCW legend Disco Inferno touched upon a potential intergender match when Mami returns to the ring. He speculated whether Rhea Ripley would ultimately win the men's World Title, which he claimed was an absurd angle.

Speaking on Keepin' It 100, Disco Inferno noted that Dominik Mysterio's win last week over Damian Priest could be a sign of things to come. Mysterio has been in conversation as the next World Heavyweight Champion in the not-too-distant future. Inferno questioned whether WWE intends to put the belt on him and have Ripley hunt:

"When Carlito clumsily got [Dominik Mysterio] the match [against Damian Priest], because he is a fixer and he is going to get things done, right? Dom won. So now, Dom is in line for a title match, okay? So what if Dom wins the title, and this eventually works into Ripley vs. Dom, and Ripley wins the title from Dom? How absurd that would be?" Discon Inferno said. [From 1:48 to 2:18]

However, WWE went another route this past Monday, as Damian Priest got his win back in the main event against 'Dirty' Dom, Seth Rollins, and Sheamus. Priest is the next challenger to World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.

Damian Priest would like to win the World Tag Team Titles with Rhea Ripley

Another unusual storyline that has recently become popular among wrestling fans is having former Judgment Day members go after the World Tag Team Title.

On Casual Conversations with The Classic, Damian Priest discussed the possibility of teaming up with Rhea Ripley again. And this time, to contend for the World Tag Team Championship. He expressed interest if WWE is willing to put the belts on them:

"Yeah, it's very possible. If they allow Rhea to be my partner for the World Tag Team Titles, that's 100% possible we can beat anybody. There's nobody right now in WWE that I feel like I can't stand toe-to-toe with and I know she thinks the same way. So that's on Pearce and the office people at the company to decide."
