Rhea Ripley says she didn't want 4-time WWE Champion to leave The Judgment Day
The landscape of The Judgment Day changed forever at WWE SummerSlam 2024, with Dominik Mysterio and Finn Balor betraying Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest, respectively. Meanwhile, The Nightmare recently claimed she wasn't a fan of Adam Copeland (Edge) leaving the faction in 2022.
The Judgment Day has been through several highs and lows since its inception in April 2022. The stable was founded by four-time WWE Champion Adam Copeland at WrestleMania 38.
Later, the erstwhile Edge was joined by Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley. However, Copeland was booted out of the faction in June 2022.
In WWE 24: Damian Priest, the former Women's World Champion mentioned how Priest and Copeland wanted her to join the faction. Mami also claimed that she was against the idea of The Rated R Superstar leaving the group. However, she admitted that the veteran's exit opened a ''massive door'' of possibilities.
"I really didn't want Edge to leave, but it also opened up such a massive door," Ripley said. [39:45-39:50]
WWE Hall of Famer Edge details original plans for The Judgment Day
Adam Copeland's exit from the group changed the trajectory of The Judgment Day on Monday Night RAW. Finn Balor replaced the Hall of Famer in the group. Later, Dominik Mysterio joined the heel stable after betraying the erstwhile Edge and Rey Mysterio.
Later, Copeland returned to WWE and spent months feuding with The Judgment Day before his eventual showdown against Finn Balor at WrestleMania 39 in a Hell in a Cell match, which the Hall of Famer won.
However, these were not the original plans for The Judgment Day under the old regime. In an appearance on Talk is Jericho, Adam stated that he was supposed to stay with the group for a year before eventually parting ways.
Unfortunately, several notable names got injured, which forced the management to turn the veteran into a babyface and remove him from The Judgment Day. These decisions were taken during Vince McMahon's regime.
The storyline evolved further under Triple H's leadership, and the faction feuded with its founder for months before capping it off at WrestleMania 39. Meanwhile, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley were booted out of The Judgment Day at the recent SummerSlam PLE. The current members of the faction include Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Dominik Mysterio, Liv Morgan, and Carlito.
