WWE News: Ric Flair on his return to television

Ric Flair appeared on the November 28th episode of Raw to endorse Sasha Banks

Ric Flair returned to television for the first time in six months in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina to endorse the new Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks after she defeated his daughter, Charlotte.

On the latest edition of his podcast, The Ric Flair Show, his co-host Conrad Thompson asked him about his status in WWE, and The Nature Boy said:

“I think I’m back on TV now”

Below is footage from the match between Charlotte and Sasha Banks on Raw, where Ric Flair came out after the match to congratulate Sasha on her win.

PWInsider has reported that Ric Flair recently signed a new contract with WWE, which may be an indication that The Nature Boy’s return last Monday was not a one-off. He once said that he would love to manage The Swiss Superman Cesaro. However, it is almost a guarantee that Flair will be involved in a storyline with Charlotte, likely against her.

It would be interesting if WWE flipped the switch and aligned Ric Flair with Sasha Banks, or basically against Charlotte. It would be quite a swerve if they decided to turn Charlotte face, especially given that she has been getting some of the best heel reactions on the entire roster.

But Ric Flair’s involvement need not necessarily require him to be the heel because he is one of the most universally respected professional wrestlers in the world.

Flair had not been seen on television since May 23rd, the night after Extreme Rules, when Charlotte had turned on her father:

Without a doubt, Flair’s purpose and presence would be to help put over the people involved in the storyline, whether it is Sasha Banks or Charlotte. His first run with her was mainly with the objective of her turning on him so that she could get more heat on herself.

Since then, Charlotte has been aligned with Dana Brooke, who is her protegé in the storyline.
