Ric Flair sends John Cena a heartfelt message after he announces his retirement

Ric Flair is a true WWE legend and has sent a message to John Cena on hearing about his recent announcement at Money in the Bank. The star's message was heartfelt and recalled their connection.

John Cena is bringing his career to an end once and for all. The star has finished up his time in the company and wrestling as a whole. After teasing that he would retire soon for the past year, the star finally announced his retirement at Money in the Bank. He said that the 2025 Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania would be the last of each event for him. He also noted that he would retire by the time 2025 ended.

Another WWE legend, Ric Flair, although he is not with the company at the moment, chose this time to send a message to Cena. He called John Cena a true friend and shared an old video of when Cena held both the WWE and the World Heavyweight title. Cena came out when Flair was leaving and handed him the World Heavyweight title, taking in the major moment:

"What A Cool Moment! A True Friend Is Like A Four-Leaf Clover; Hard To Find & Lucky To Have! WOOOOO! @JohnCena"

Ric Flair's history with the title is well known as he has held it several times over his career.

John Cena and Ric Flair share more than a friendship

John Cena and Ric Flair are destined to be named in the same sentence quite a lot in the future. Both stars hold the record for the most world titles, having won 16 times each.

While it was thought that Cena might overcome Flair's record, it does not seem like it will happen, unless he does so during his retirement tour.

With the star winding up his career, it's now on the next generation of stars, or someone like Randy Orton to pick up that momentous record.
