Rikishi introduces new Bloodline member; shares message about him being one to watch
The Bloodline seemingly has yet another potential future member to choose from, and this rising star is the brother of a current WWE Superstar. The Anoa'i family is arguably the deepest clan in professional wrestling in terms of stars produced, and has been for some time now. Rikishi, father to four wrestlers, is now introducing another family member that has been working his way up through the indies to WWE.
Sam Fatu debuted for WWE in 1983, and went on to have runs with WCW, NWA, WWC, AAA, and numerous smaller promotions. He was known as The Tonga Kid, Tama of The Islanders, The Samoan Savage, and Nikozuna. Nephew to The Wild Samoans, Samuel is also the twin brother of Rikishi, and older brother to the late Umaga. The 59-year-old is father to Jacob Fatu, who is currently on the WWE SmackDown roster, and to up-and-coming indie star Journey Fatu.
Journey ranked #412 in Pro Wrestling Illustrated's annual PWI 500 list ranking the top wrestlers in the world. While Journey did not rank in the past, it was noted that he has competed professionally for eight years. The legendary magazine touted how Journey is a longtime tag team specialist that just had a strong year in singles action. The 28-year-old teamed with his brother and Solo Sikoa, while he and Jacob held the SPW Tag Team Championship for almost two months in 2017.
Rikishi took to Instagram today to hype up his nephew, promising that fans will remember his name soon. The WWE Hall of Famer also promised promoters won't be disappointed if they book the deathmatch competitor.
"You’ll remember his name soon @journey_fatu #thejourneybegins #Hardcore #deathvalley [blood drop emoji] [finger pointing up emoji] book him you won’t be disappointed . @thesamoandynasty smarts!!" Rikishi wrote with the graphic below.
Rikishi once competed in a Battle Royal with Journey at his KnokX Pro WrestleFair event in 2018. The former Too Cool member won the 34-man Battle Royal, which also featured Journey, Solo, Afa Jr., and Lance Anoa'i.
The Bloodline set for massive WWE match
The Bloodline is once again the subject of immense WWE rumors as fans speculate on new members to debut for Survivor Series: WarGames build. The double-cage match set for later this month will feature the OG Bloodline vs. The Bloodline 2.0.
Survivor Series 2024 is set to be headlined by the big Men's WarGames Match. Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa have called on Bronson Reed to be their fifth man at the premium live event. Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn still need their fifth man, believed by some to be Brock Lesnar, among others.
The 38th annual WWE Survivor Series PLE will air live on Saturday, November 30 from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The only other match confirmed as of this writing is World Heavyweight Champion Gunther vs. Damian Priest.
