Bill Apter comments on Rikishi's dispute with former WWE writer Vince Russo
Legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter sided with Rikishi after the Hall of Famer called out Vince Russo for bashing Jey Uso after he won the Intercontinental Championship.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine show, Apter shared that he agreed with Rikishi over Russo. The veteran noted that the title was not a prop, and wondered if Russo would feel the same if Main Event Jey captured the World Heavyweight Championship.
"I really got upset with this because the fans wanted him to win so badly," Apter said. "He won it and it meant so much to him that he was very emotional. It's not a prop. He won the championship. How could you look at it as a prop? Would you look at the World Championship as a prop? All these years, I can't believe Vince Russo said this and I'm hot at him for doing that. I agree with Rikishi, I really do." [2:40 – 3:11]

Jey reunited with his twin brother Jimmy Uso this past Friday night on SmackDown and helped cost The Bloodline's Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa the WWE Tag Team Championship. It will be interesting to see if the 39-year-old ever gets the chance to capture another singles title again.
