Rikishi reacts to Bloodline betrayal, says his son's game "really has to pick up now"
WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi recently addressed how the rest of The Bloodline must fill the void left by Roman Reigns' absence.
Reigns is taking a break from WWE following his loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. On April 12, fellow Bloodline member Solo Sikoa kicked his brother Jimmy Uso out of the group on SmackDown. He also formed an alliance with another Anoa'i family member, Tama Tonga.
On his Off The Top Podcast, Rikishi said Sikoa must step up his game while Reigns is off television:
"Where does The Bloodline go now? Now we go through, Roman takes his time off, who needs to step through? Okay, we're gonna pick the best guy who we feel, right? We put up Solo. So, now Solo's game, it has to really, really pick up. It really has to pick up now." [22:21 – 22:42]
On the April 19 episode of SmackDown, Sikoa spoke over Reigns' special counsel Paul Heyman to firmly establish himself as The Bloodline's leader. The show also featured Tonga dragging a bloodied Kevin Owens onto the stage area after a behind-the-scenes attack.
Rikishi is excited about Solo Sikoa's future
Since debuting on the main roster in September 2022, Solo Sikoa has been tipped by many to be Roman Reigns' Tribal Chief heir.
Rikishi is confident that his son will show everyone he is capable of talking on the microphone:
"We seen how Roman Reigns led The Bloodline [as] The Tribal Chief. We don't hear Solo talk too much, nobody really does, but now all of the skills that this boy has, I'm telling you guys right now, you better remain buckled up on your seat because what you just seen just recently on TV, welcome Tama Tonga, welcome others, and wait for my lead!" [22:43 – 23:18]
Rikishi also gave his candid opinion on AEW's decision to air footage of CM Punk and Jack Perry's backstage altercation.
