Rising NXT Superstar could be called up to the main roster under these conditions
NXT Superstar Tiffany Stratton has revealed the conditions she wants when she gets called up to the WWE main roster.
Stratton has been one of the fastest-rising stars on the developmental brand over the past year. She's also one of the most improved wrestlers in the company and has been credited for improving NXT ratings, per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.
In a recent appearance on Sam Roberts' Notsam Wrestling podcast, Stratton discussed her potential call-up to the main roster later this year. The 24-year-old star explained what she wants to be before moving up to either Raw or SmackDown.
"I want to, when I get called up, I want to be a threat," Stratton said. "I want to be someone that is like, 'Oh crap, Tiffany is here, she is ready.' I don't want to be called up and be pushed to the side for a little bit. I want to be called up and be a threat to everyone. If I have another year in NXT and make a name for myself and hold some gold, maybe, I feel like I can be at that level." (h/t Fightful)
Stratton is two wins away from winning the NXT Women's Championship. She will face Roxanne Perez in the semifinals of the tournament to crown the new champ. If she gets the victory, she'll face the winner of the Cora Jade-Lyra Valkyria at NXT Battleground on May 28.
Tiffany Stratton was a 'handful' in training before joining NXT
Before signing with WWE in 2021, Stratton was training under Greg Gagne, who is the son of legendary wrestler Verne Gagne. Greg told Busted Open radio recently that Stratton was a handful at the start of her wrestling journey.
"She was a handful," Gagne said. "A friend of mine asked me, I wasn't doing anything, 'Would you train this girl? She wants to be a professional wrestler.' She had a great background, five years with the U.S. gymnastics team, and she won first place. And then she went into bodybuilding, first place, set a record in her weight lifting class, and she wanted to wrestle."
Gagne also revealed that Stratton would complain a lot at the start before she realized her potential and started taking wrestling more seriously. She signed with WWE back in 2021 and is now inching closer to winning her first championship.
