Rising star reveals what he is trying to learn from John Cena

John Cena is one of the most decorated performers in WWE history. TNA star Joe Hendry recently revealed the one thing he is trying to learn from the veteran.

Hendry appeared on NXT to participate in the 25-man Battle Royal to determine the next challenger for Trick Williams' title. Unfortunately, the 36-year-old faced an early elimination from the match. After failing to impress inside the squared circle, he had a confrontation with Shawn Michaels backstage.

During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Hendry named The Rock as his inspiration to get into the wrestling business. The TNA star also stated that he tries to learn the most from John Cena during his current run with TNA. He also mentioned the 47-year-old talking about being the champion without the belt following his loss to Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39:

"John Cena is the person I pull from the most in what I am trying to do here. He was talking about his loss at the previous Wrestlemania, and John Cena said, 'Be the champion without the belt.’ When I really think about what it takes to be a top talent, there's a different type of learning that has to occur. My goal is to be someone that when TNA puts me on the poster and says Joe Hendry is gonna be here, something happens. And that's what I am trying to learn how to do right now,” he said.

John Cena showers praise on popular WWE Superstar

John Cena praised former TNA star LA Knight in an interview. The former Doctor of Thugonomics teamed up with the Megastar to take on The Boodline's Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso in a tag team match at WWE Fastlane 2023.

While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Cena praised LA Knight for putting in a lot of hard work over the years. The former World Champion claimed that the latter has earned everything he has achieved in his wrestling career so far. He further pointed out that it was fun to work alongside Knight:

"There is a situation where I want to say he [LA Knight] is gifted. That is not the right thing to say. What I should say is, man, he has worked to get his talent. He is the embodiment of perseverance, and hard work, and believing in himself. He has earned every inch. It was really, really fun to be in there with him,'' he said. [H/T: Fightful]

LA Knight recently pinned Logan Paul in a triple threat match to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match. The contest featured Santos Escobar as the third superstar. It remains to be seen which WWE Superstar will retrieve the briefcase on July 6.
