Rising WWE star wants to retire John Cena in a dream match
John Cena is one of the greatest names to have stepped inside a WWE ring. However, the 16-time world champion is in the twilight of his career and thus every rising star wants an opportunity to stand across the ring from him. Bron Breakker also holds the same desire and wants to retire the Greatest of All Time.
The Face That Runs The Place announced his retirement during the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, noting that he would embark upon a Farewell Tour and hang up his boots towards the end of 2025. Next year's Royal Rumble and WrestleMania are going to be Cena's last appearances at the respective premium live events.
With many stars expressing their desire to face Cena, Bron Breakker has also thrown his name in the hat. The Intercontinental Champion stated that being able to retire John Cena would be the dream match for him. He also believed if Cena was looking to face someone from the new generation then no one could present a better challenge to the legend than him.
"I think the only fitting match that comes to mind for me is to retire John Cena, because I mean he's going on a Farewell Tour from what I know. I don't know how long he's going to be around and stuff, or what his schedule is, but if he wants to come back and have the best possible match with the most elite talent that there is to work with that he hasn't worked with yet that's me. There is no one else. So if he wants to get in there and mix it up with the best of the best of the next generation, that's going to ... next five, ten years [...] going to step up and be leaders for this locker room, it's me," he said. John Cena is also rumored to face WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther
Fans are excited for John Cena's Farewell Tour next year, as it will be the last time they will get to see one of the greatest of all time don his wrestling boots. It seems like WWE has huge plans in store for the 16-time world champion as there are rumors that Cena could face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at a marquee premium live event.
Cena has been a part of WWE for over two decades. However, he has transitioned into a part-time wrestler over the last few years, as age caught up with the veteran. He was last seen in action on RAW after WrestleMania 40, where he teamed up with The Awesome Truth to take on The Judgment Day in a Six-Man Tag Team Match.
