Rob Van Dam confronts 30-year-old WWE star after getting assaulted backstage on NXT
WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam confronted Wes Lee on the latest episode of NXT and cost him his match. This took place after he was attacked by the 30-year-old star backstage during the show.
This week's episode of the black and silver brand took place in the popular 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, and it was a tribute show for ECW, which was based in The City of Brotherly Love. Several ECW legends and veterans appeared on the show, including Bubba Ray and D'Von Dudley, Rhyno, Dawn Marie, and Nunzio.
Rob Van Dam was involved in a backstage segment with Kelani Jordan, who was set to compete in the main event. He was giving her some tips while she was doing a split. After she left, Wes Lee blindsided the former WWE Champion and assaulted him. RVD showed up at ringside during The Kardiak Kid's match against Je'Von Evans.
He stopped the former NXT North American Champion from hitting The Young OG with a steel chair. Wes Lee tried to hit the ECW legend with the chair at ringside, but the latter evaded it. Je'Von won the match via pinfall and celebrated with Rob Van Dam in the ring.
