Roman Reigns claims "nobody wants" Cody Rhodes with the WWE Title

Roman Reigns was in possession of the most-prized championship belt in World Wrestling Entertainment for the better part of this decade. At WrestleMania XL in April 2024, Cody Rhodes ended his reign at 1,316 days.

Reigns was humbled on the grandest spectacle of sports entertainment, whereby he disappeared altogether. Upon his return in the summer, he became a man on a mission. Not to reclaim the belt, but to take down his cousin Solo Sikoa, who took over The Bloodline as its 'Tribal Chief' during his absence. At Survivor Series: WarGames last Saturday, he led a reunited OG Bloodline and CM Punk to put an exclamation point in his rivalry with Sikoa.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated's Jimmy Traina recently, Roman Reigns touched upon losing the Undisputed WWE Title at WrestleMania among a bevy of topics. He noted that when it comes to his now reunited family members, it is all about having power and staying at the tippy top:

"At this point, getting the big title back is important. We’re in the middle of sorting out the Ula Fala, sorting out the family business. That is far more personal and at times I wish we could have been able to handle this at the dinner table, breaking bread, the easier and older way. We’ve done it this way. At the end of the day, we can’t take our eye off the ball. Cody is the man right now and nobody in my Bloodline likes that. Nobody wants that," Roman Reigns stated.

Based on the new alliances Jey Uso has made in the past year on WWE RAW, The OTC ascertains that perhaps Mr. Main Event is the only one among them who has a soft spot for The American Nightmare:

"Jey seems to be friends with everybody these days. At the end of the day, we want the power, we want that stroke, we want the juice. We want to be prominent, we want to be positioned as the tippity top." [From 18:04 to 19:04]

Reigns and Rhodes headlined two WrestleManias in a row over the last two years. More recently, in a shocking turn of events, the two teamed up to take on Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood.

Does Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes have a competition within WWE?

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes sat out one of the company's 'Big Four' events this year, and that is Survivor Series last Saturday. Instead, he is booked for a massive title clash that has been brewing for months at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14.

Interestingly, Roman Reigns is reportedly not going to be part of the resurrection of Saturday Night's Main Event. However, at Survivor Series, he headlined alongside CM Punk, another major star in WWE.
