Roman Reigns and CM Punk's intense face-off draws WWE veteran's attention; criticizes the segment
Roman Reigns and CM Punk agreed to a truce at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames in Canada when they went up against Solo Sikoa's Bloodline and Bronson Reed. Recently, Jim Cornette criticized their face-off ahead of the event.
Ahead of WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, the Original Tribal Chief had a sitdown with The Second City Saint on Friday Night SmackDown. Both parties appeared at Paul Heyman's request and kept their differences aside to take down Solo Sikoa's Bloodline and Bronson Reed before the faction came after them.
Speaking on his Jim Cornette Experience podcast, the veteran criticized the popular segment between Roman Reigns and CM Punk ahead of the event. Cornette stated it was overly dramatic and would've been roasted had something similar been done on AEW television.
"That's why they aint' Hollywood. If this segment had been on AEW, we would be roasting it because of the overly dramatic nature, the ominious music, and the sitdown in the dark room. It was a movie scene," Cornette said. [From 01:00 onwards]
CM Punk got a favor from Paul Heyman after he assisted Roman Reigns at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames
Earlier this year, CM Punk tried to save Paul Heyman from Solo Sikoa's Bloodline on Friday Night SmackDown. Unfortunately, The Straight Edge Star failed to defend the WWE Hall of Famer but didn't forget his promise.
Last month, he returned to the Stamford-based promotion alongside The Wiseman and joined the OG Bloodline at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames. With the help of CM Punk, Roman Reigns overcame Solo Sikoa's faction and Bronson Reed in Canada.
However, the help came with a price, and The Second City Saint reminded Paul Heyman of a pending favor before returning to Monday Night RAW. Later, Punk addressed the favor but didn't reveal it.
Before the event, the Original Tribal Chief asked The Wiseman about the favor, but Heyman politely declined and asked him to focus on WarGames. It'll be what the favor is and when CM Punk will cash in.
