Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes' match vs. The Bloodline witnessing massive swerve is possible, says WWE analyst
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will unexpectedly team up to battle Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at WWE Bad Blood 2024. Meanwhile, WWE analyst Sam Roberts suggested the match could witness a massive swerve.
The Original Tribal Chief returned last Friday on SmackDown to stop a post-match Bloodline attack on The American Nightmare. Later that night, he and Rhodes fended off another attack by Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa before they signed the contract for their tag-team match at Bad Blood.
On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts suggested a few possible scenarios for the upcoming square-off between The Bloodline and the former rivals. He claimed Jacob Fatu could pin The American Nightmare, leading to a potential match between the two stars. The 41-year-old also proposed that the Undisputed WWE Champion getting pinned could lead to more friction between him and The OTC.
"There is a version of this where Jacob takes out Cody Rhodes and Solo gets the pin on Cody Rhodes. And if Cody Rhodes eats the pin the same way that he did in the tag team match with Seth Rollins against The Rock and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, if Cody Rhodes takes the pin in this tag match, does Cody resent Roman for allowing it to happen? Does Roman resent Cody for getting pinned? Does this add friction from one or both of them?" Roberts said.
The RAW Talk host also stated that the erstwhile Big Dog could surprisingly turn on his tag team partner to side with the current Bloodline. However, Roberts admitted it was unlikely because the Triple H-led creative team would not want to sacrifice the "ultra-babyface" version of Roman Reigns.
"Is there a world where Roman Reigns joins the current Bloodline, and they all attack Cody? Of course, there's a world where that happens. I don't think that's very likely because I don't think that the WWE would sacrifice what they've got with Roman Reigns, which is finally this ultra-babyface," he added. [23:00-24:09]
Will Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes fight side-by-side at WWE Survivor Series 2024?
While Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are about to team up at Bad Blood, Sam Roberts discussed the possibility of the former rivals joining forces at Survivor Series.
The WWE analyst predicted that the Original Tribal Chief and The American Nightmare would join forces with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens to battle The Bloodline in a WarGames Match in November.
"I think, based on the pieces that we have in play right now, as much as everyone was thinking old Bloodline vs. new Bloodline, I think what you're looking at for Survivor Series is Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton vs. Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa," he said.
The RAW Talk host also predicted that Orton and Owens would go after The Bloodline's WWE Tag Team Championship in the coming weeks. It will be interesting to see if his predictions come true.
