Roman Reigns to make WWE return at Money in the Bank 2024, says analyst; and get betrayed twice causing him to lose at SummerSlam
The seeds for Roman Reigns' potential WWE return were planted months ago when a new Bloodline was formed. Wrestling analyst Sam Roberts recently discussed a potential booking option for The Tribal Chief ahead of SummerSlam.
The Head of the Table's absence since his title loss at WrestleMania XL has unfolded a new chapter of The Bloodline saga. Solo Sikoa made some questionable decisions, including kicking Jimmy Uso out and recruiting Tama Tonga and later Tonga Loa. At Clash at the Castle this past weekend, The Enforcer made his intentions clear when he confronted Cody Rhodes following his successful title defense against AJ Styles.
Speaking on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts entertained the thought of Rhodes beating Sikoa at Money in the Bank, leading to Roman Reigns finally coming face-to-face with his cousin. He mentioned that the aforementioned angle could see Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa booting The Tribal Chief from The Bloodline, a group he once created:
"Solo loses to Cody. That is when the music hits. That is when we see Roman Reigns, once again, and [Roman] Reigns comes to the ring by himself in Las Vegas, no Usos. Paul Heyman is already at ringside with Solo Sikoa. He looks thrilled. Roman Reigns confronts Solo Sikoa. He said, 'The Tribal Chief is back! Losing has consequences, right?' Solo Sikoa just looks at [Roman] Reigns and goes, 'Right.' And that's when the Tongans attack [Roman] Reigns," Roberts said.
The WWE personality believes Reigns will face another family betrayal by his Wiseman - Paul Heyman, who will help Sikoa beat the former Universal Champion at SummerSlam this year:
"It brings us to Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam...By this time, Paul Heyman has made it clear he's on the side of the Tribal Chief, and Roman makes it clear that his goal is to rebuild the Bloodline and its Solo and the Tongans vs. Reigns and SummerSlam is when Paul Heyman finally betrays [Roman] Reigns. Maybe you get a new member of the Bloodline, one that we've been waiting for a long time, that comes out and attacks [Roman] Reigns, but ultimately, Paul Heyman betrays [Roman] Reigns, allowing Solo Sikoa to beat Roman Reigns at SummerSlam," he added. Will Roman Reigns return to WWE in time for SummerSlam 2024?
The former Shield member was previously advertised to appear on the go-home episode of SmackDown before SummerSlam.
However, that is no longer the case as he has been removed from the list. Recent reports suggested that Reigns will be back sooner than expected, but that was a mere hearsay. As of this writing, there's no official word on when The Tribal Chief will return.
If WWE wants to pull the trigger on another Bloodline civil war, they need to bring back Reigns in time for The Biggest Party of the Summer - SummerSlam.
