Roman Reigns match came at an unfortunate time, recounts WWE legend
Roman Reigns has nine WrestleMania main events under his belt. An argument can be made that it is the biggest achievement for any WWE Superstar. But not all of those bouts were up to the standards of some fans.
WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker has admitted that his performance at WrestleMania 33 left a lot to be desired. The main event was evidently designed as a farewell match for The Last Outlaw. However, the bout simply did not click for many, which made the legendary star return to the ring at the following year's Show of Shows.
On his Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway podcast, The Undertaker briefly touched upon his match with Roman Reigns on the grand stage. He expressed disappointment that he could not give his best to the former Undisputed WWE Champion, revealing that it still bothers him to this day:
"The match still bothers me. Not that I lost, but I was just—I stayed a little long. I stayed a little long. I didn’t have enough for him that I would have liked to have given him. At that point, my body was shutting down. Yeah, I shouldn’t have been in that match, but, anyway," the legend ended the discussion. [From 1:29:42 to 1:30:14]
Two years later, at WWE Extreme Rules 2019, The Undertaker and Roman Reigns teamed up to take on Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon in a Tag Team contest. The powerhouse duo walked away with the win.
Things took a turn for Roman Reigns when he joined forces with WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman
For Roman Reigns, winning over the WWE Universe was not easy, but it happened when he turned heel in 2020. He joined forces with Paul Heyman, and the rest was history. The Undertaker noted that, although fans should give Reigns much of the credit, The Wiseman also needs to be singled out for praise. Everything changed after Heyman got involved.
The Wiseman returned to The Island of Relevancy in late November and reunited with The Original Tribal Chief. Meanwhile, a WWE personality has pointed to the possibility of a ghost from The OTC's past hunting for him.
