Roman Reigns not returning at SummerSlam due to WWE's WrestleMania plans is possible, says veteran
There is major speculation that Roman Reigns might not return to WWE at SummerSlam next week. Solo Sikoa will take on Cody Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed Championship at the premium live event. However, fans feel that the time is right for Reigns to return and begin a feud with Sikoa, who has replaced him as the new Tribal Chief of The Bloodline.
The former Universal Champion, Roman Reigns has not been seen since WrestleMania 40 and has been taking time off. His absence has been felt throughout the WWE Universe as fans can be seen chanting ''We want Roman'' at television tapings and live shows. The latest person to weigh in on the matter is veteran wrestling journalist, Dave Meltzer.
Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer stated that while the timing is right for Reigns' return at SummerSlam, the company could yet wait months before his return so that Reigns vs Sikoa takes place at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas next year.
''It’s inevitable this happens [Reigns returning] and the timing feels right, but they also could easily save this for months down the line as Reigns vs. Sikoa feels like a WrestleMania match to go with Rhodes vs. The Rock,'' said Meltzer.
Roman Reigns could become a bigger babyface than Cody Rhodes upon return as per Matt Camp
Cody Rhodes is not only the face of the company as the Undisputed WWE Champion but also one of the biggest babyfaces on the roster.
Former RAW Talk host, Matt Camp stated on his Wrestling with Matt podcast that The Tribal Chief could become even more popular than The American Nightmare after he returns. He also felt that WWE having two huge faces at the same time would be unbelievable and it wasn't something that had happened often in the company's history.
''But I'm so intrigued to see how things shake out when Roman is back because I think Roman can be a bigger babyface than Cody, which is, by the way, is an unbelievable thing for WWE to have,'' said Camp
