Roman Reigns returns; John Cena introduces his next challenger on WWE SmackDown
Roman Reigns returned to SmackDown tonight, and John Cena introduced him to his next challenger.
Ever since SummerSlam, The Tribal Chief has been off WWE television. However, his Bloodline stablemates have continued their respective storylines onscreen, with him remaining an offscreen character.
Tonight being the season premiere of SmackDown, Roman Reigns was scheduled to make his much-anticipated return to the blue brand. The show kicked off with John Cena. However, he was quickly interrupted by Reigns, who asked him to get out of his ring.
John Cena, on the other hand, quickly acknowledged Reigns' title runs as a dominant champion. He then revealed he was not here to challenge him because he had not earned it yet. However, he also stated that he knew someone who had.
LA Knight's music hit, and he came down to the ring. He pointed out that things have changed a lot since the last time Reigns was in a ring. The latter didn't seem impressed and questioned The Megastar's credibility to stand in his presence. LA reminded the Tribal Chief that he is the fastest-rising star in SmackDown history.
At this point, Jimmy Uso tried to attack Knight from behind, but the plan backfired, and Knight got rid of him pretty effortlessly. Roman then left the ring and asked Solo Sikoa to handle him. The Street Champion then challenged Knight to a match, which the latter accepted.
It's good that LA Knight's meteoric rise is continuing, but it remains to be seen if this will be enough to dethrone The Tribal Chief.
