Roman Reigns' reunion with Sami Zayn on SmackDown had one big problem, according to ex-WWE employee (Exclusive)
Former WWE head writer Vince Russo spoke about Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Sami Zayn standing tall at the end of SmackDown. The four men closed the show by beating down The Bloodline.
During the final segment of the show, Roman Reigns walked out alone to confront Solo Sikoa and his henchmen as they were hosting the Undisputed Tribal Chief Acknowledgement Ceremony. The faction started a beatdown on the Original Tribal Chief as The Usos rushed out to help. Soon, Sami Zayn also joined the fray and they managed to clear the ring.
During this week's BroDown podcast, Russo mentioned that the whole reunion was too predictable. He felt fans wanted to see the four men get on the same page and WWE was right in giving them that. However, the veteran wanted the writing team to be more creative about putting Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Sami together.
"This is exactly what the fans wanted. They gave them exactly what they wanted. The writing was on the wall, you knew it was gonna come down to this. You know, like I said, at the top of the show sometimes you gotta give the fans what they want. I just wish it wouldn't have been as predictable as it was." [From 25:00 onwards]
With Survivor Series just around the corner, the original Bloodline finally seems to have resolved their differences.
It will be interesting to see if they enter into a WarGames Match against Solo and his associates at the premium live event later this month.
