Roman Reigns reveals an interesting way in which his real-life relationship with Jey Uso affects their interactions on camera
Roman Reigns and Jey Uso have a storied history together that goes well beyond their years in the ring. In fact, what we've seen on television is only a fraction of what they've been through considering they've been close since childhood. The OTC revealed how this real-life dynamic plays into their interactions on camera.
It's been a while now since Roman Reigns and Jey Uso have had an official interaction. While Jey's story with Roman came to an end at SummerSlam 2023 following which he "quit" WWE and moved to RAW after that, his time as Undisputed Tag Team Champion for nine days with Cody Rhodes led to another brief interaction with his cousin - but that was more focused on getting the Cody-Roman story ahead.
At Bloomberg's Power Players conference, Roman Reigns went into detail about how his real-life relationship with Jey Uso plays out on camera:
"It's kind of...you have to have this little perfect threshold of mixing both, you know? Because you want to be able to tap. I'm talking to Jey [Uso], who in real life's name is Josh, grew up with Joe, we grew up together. We have all this chemistry. Our relationship is a lifetime of stuff. So to be able to tap into that, I have to still be present within who I am. But then I have to also sway it towards the performance and what the story is. So, I can connect into very real emotions I've had with Josh and then deliver them as Roman to Jey. If that makes sense. I think I confused the whole room." [0:01 - 0:42]

Drew McIntyre admits that he felt losing to Roman Reigns wasn't the right move
There were only a few men that fans pegged as worthy of dethroning Reigns during his unprecedented run as Universal Champion. One of those names is Drew McIntyre - a man who came close to doing so in Wales at Clash at the Castle 2022 but fell short thanks to the debuting Solo Sikoa. In that instance, Jimmy and Jey Uso weren't permitted to travel to Wales reportedly due to legal issues.
Drew McIntyre admitted to Chris Van Vliet on his Insight show that he feels that he should've been the one to dethrone Roman Reigns and not Cody Rhodes:
"I think so. It's weird, because you look at certain moments and in the moment when you're living them you’re like this is ridiculous. We should have found a way out of this. Theory could have cashed in, and I could have pinned him because we had to protect The Bloodline and Roman at that time, that's the top story in the company, the top character. And perhaps at that time, I was like, I just feel this is a bad move," said McIntyre. [19:55 - 20:18]
Drew McIntyre's curse would continue in 2024, losing at Clash at the Castle once again. This time, it was worse because it happened in front of his home country fans in Scotland.
