Roman Reigns and The Usos aligning with legendary duo on SmackDown was the right choice, says veteran (Exclusive)
Roman Reigns and The Usos got their revenge against the new Bloodline on SmackDown as they helped Motor City Machine Guns win the WWE Tag Team Championship. Veteran journalist Bill Apter shared his thoughts on the same, noting how the angle elevated the ongoing storyline.
MCMG made their WWE debut last week in a Tag Team Championship Tournament, defeating A-Town Down Under and Legado Del Fantasma to inch closer to the titles. This week in the finals, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin defeated DIY to become the #1 contenders. However, The Bloodline confronted the duo afterward, with Solo Sikoa challenging them to a match against Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa on the spot.
Nick Aldis made the match official after agreement from both sides. While The Bloodline would have fancied their chances, interferences from Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso neutralized their numbers advantage. Ultimately, Jey Uso then showed up to cost the Tongans the titles.
Sportskeeda Wrestling's Senior Editor Bill Apter shared his thoughts on the finish:
"Of course, it was a screwjob finish if it wasn’t for Roman Reigns and the Usos, the title might not have changed hands."
The Hall of Fame journalist also noted that the incident on SmackDown has elevated The Bloodline storyline:
"Once again, this whole thing with the Motor City Machine Gun has raised more trouble in The Bloodline and brought The Bloodline angle to another level."
Jimmy and Jey embraced after costing Bloodline the WWE Tag Team Championship. However, the OTC just watched from the sidelines.
