Roman Reigns' WWE return was "premature," according to 6-time world champion
This past Saturday night at WWE SummerSlam 2024, Roman Reigns made a stunning return to WWE, taking out Solo Sikoa during his Undisputed WWE Championship clash with Cody Rhodes. Despite the excitement surrounding Reigns' comeback, one WWE Hall of Famer believes that the return was "premature."
Reigns had not been seen on WWE programming since losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. Since then, Sikoa has taken over as The Tribal Chief while adding Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu to The Bloodline faction. Sikoa has also expelled Paul Heyman, Reigns' Wiseman, and Jimmy Uso from the group.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, former world champion Booker T provided his honest take on Reigns' jaw-dropping return at SummerSlam.
"I loved it, but I thought it was a little premature, man," Booker T said. "I thought Roman [Reigns] could've used a couple more weeks off...I didn't expect it. It was totally unexpected for me. I did not see it coming. It was a pleasant surprise though, seeing Roman back in the fold." [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
Booker also wants to see how Reigns' return will play out now that he is being cheered. He won't have to wait long, as Reigns is set to appear on WWE programming soon.
Roman Reigns advertised for WWE SmackDown this Friday night
During this past Monday night's episode of WWE RAW, it was revealed that Roman Reigns will be appearing on WWE SmackDown this Friday night. It will be the first time Reigns has appeared on the blue brand since the Road to WrestleMania 40.
It's presumed that Reigns will address Solo Sikoa and the rest of The Bloodline faction, which may perhaps lead to a Reigns-Sikoa match being set up somewhere down the line. He may also address his WrestleMania 40 defeat and look to regain the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes.
