Roxanne Perez shares heartbreaking update following WWE NXT

WWE NXT Superstar Roxanne Perez posted a heartbreaking message today on social media. Perez is the reigning NXT Women's Champion and successfully defended the title against TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace this past Sunday night at NXT Battleground in Las Vegas.

Roxanne Perez took to her Instagram today to pay tribute to a fan who passed away. The fan's name was Kiersten, and Roxanne shared a photo of her with a pair of wrestling boots she'd sent her. Perez stated she wished she could have met her in person and hugged her.

"Rest in Peace my beautiful Kiersten. You made me feel like someone when I was just barely beginning to make my mark in wrestling. I wish I could have met you and hugged you and thanked you. I love you. Fly high. ❤️," she wrote.

Roxanne Perez wants to headline WrestleMania with another WWE NXT star

NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez believes she and Cora Jade will headline a future WWE WrestleMania.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Riju Dasgupta last year, Perez stated that everyone should be watching NXT because it is a preview of the future of WWE. She claimed that she would love to keep wrestling Cora Jade for many years to come and added that she believes the two stars will headline a WrestleMania event sometime down the line.

Perez and Jade were once a tag team, and the duo captured the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship.

"I would love to wrestle Cora Jade for years and years. One day, I truly feel we are going to be headlining WrestleMania. So, yeah, we are the future, and this is why everybody should be watching NXT because we are the stars of tomorrow," said Roxanne Perez. [19:55 - 20:11]

Roxanne Perez gave a State of the NXT Women's Division address last night but was interrupted by Jacy Jayne, Lash Legend, Lola Vice, Jakara Jackson, and Jazmyn Nyx. It will be interesting to see how long the 22-year-old can hold onto the WWE NXT Women's Championship moving forward.
