Samantha Irvin sends a seven-word message to Cody Rhodes after his victory at WWE SummerSlam

WWE announcer Samantha Irvin has sent a message to Cody Rhodes after he retained the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Samantha had previously been widely praised after her emotional announcement after Cody's win at WrestleMania XL.

In the main event of the SummerSlam Premium Live Event, Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa in a Bloodline Rules Match. During the closing moments of the contest, the returning Roman Reigns hit Sikoa with a Superman Punch and a Spear, helping Rhodes retain the title.

On Twitter/X, Irvin posted a video of her introducing Rhodes at SummerSlam. She sent a seven-word message to The American Nightmare, showing respect to him in the process.

"All my respect to The American Nightmare," wrote Irvin.

Matt Camp predicted Roman Reigns to return at SummerSlam and help Cody Rhodes

Matt Camp had earlier predicted Roman Reigns would return to help Cody Rhodes at the SummerSlam Premium Live Event.

Speaking on The Wrestling Matt podcast, Camp predicted Reigns would go after The Bloodline and save Rhodes. He said:

"If The Bloodline beats down Cody after that, yeah, I don't see the show ending that way. I see a returning Roman Reigns. Now, is a returning Roman Reigns coming back to fight off The Bloodline and Cody rolls out of the ring and it's not about Cody and Roman? You could do that by the way. Roman comes out with a chair, equalizer, whatever. You could do that. You could get Cody out of there. And then it's not about Roman saving Cody, it's about Roman taking back what is his or maybe having to start a new or if you do want that big moment, and I'm sure Endeavor would love that big moment, you have Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns massive babyfaces standing side-by-side."

With Reigns expected to feud with Sikoa on SmackDown, it remains to be seen who steps up as Rhodes' next challenger for his Undisputed WWE Championship. The American Nightmare has successfully defended his title on four separate occasions since winning it at WrestleMania XL.
