Sami Zayn cheated to beat Bron Breakker at WWE Money in the Bank, Scott Steiner claims (Exclusive)
Bron Breakker unsuccessfully challenged Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship at WWE Money in the Bank on July 6. In an exclusive interview, Breakker's uncle Scott Steiner gave his thoughts on the match outcome.
Breakker has been presented as one of WWE's most dominant superstars since moving to the main roster in February 2024. Many expected the 26-year-old to capture the Intercontinental Championship earlier this month. However, Zayn secured a clean win over the rising star in a 13-minute contest.
Steiner told Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter that Zayn was "lucky" to leave his home country of Canada with the win:
"Sami, he obviously cheated. You're not gonna beat Bron on his own. He got lucky. What did he have? Brass knuckles or something? What did he hit him with? Brass knuckles or something? He pulled something out. He can't beat him one-on-one. He got lucky." [From 0:41 – 1:00]
Steiner won several titles during his legendary career, including the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Watch the video above to hear the 2022 WWE Hall of Famer's thoughts on one thing AEW must improve.
Scott Steiner on WWE's booking of Bron Breakker
Despite losing to Sami Zayn, Bron Breakker has continued to wreak havoc every week on RAW. On the July 22 episode, the former football player defeated Ilja Dragunov to earn another opportunity at Sami Zayn's Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam.
Overall, Scott Steiner is pleased to see how Triple H and WWE's creative team have booked Breakker since his main roster arrival:
"So far, it's going great, I think, you know. We'll see what happens, but so far they're pushing him good." [From 01:07 – 01:15]
This week's RAW ended with Breakker spearing Zayn after the Intercontinental Champion teamed up with Jey Uso to defeat Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.
