Sami Zayn pens emotional message after completing memorable WWE tour
WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn was in Japan over the last week for the company's live event. The tour featured multiple superstars from RAW and SmackDown.
Zayn has become a prominent star for the company over the last couple of years. His involvement with The Bloodline pushed him to the upper echelon of the roster. After breaking off from the faction, he had a run with the Undisputed Tag Team Championships with Kevin Owens. At WrestleMania XL, Zayn ended Gunther's historic reign with the Intercontinental Championship to become the new champion.
Zayn spent the last week in Japan with several WWE stars and was part of multiple matches during the tour. He defended the IC title against Dominik Mysterio on two occasions, coming out victorious both times. He was also in a tag team match, partnering with Kevin Owens against The Bloodline's Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. Zayn and KO picked up the win in this encounter as well.
After a memorable tour, Sami took to X/Twitter to share a message with the WWE Universe in Japan. He professed his love for the Japanese fans and bid them farewell.
"Sayonara Japan, I love you."
Sami Zayn will face Bron Breakker at SummerSlam
Ever since Sami Zayn dethroned Gunther at WrestleMania XL, Bron Breakker has taken an interest in the title. Breakker was drafted to Monday Night RAW, and since then, he has been determined to win the Intercontinental Championship.
Zayn managed to overcome Breakker at Money in the Bank in Toronto. However, this did not stop Breakker from victimizing Sami week after week on RAW. These repeated attacks and earth-shattering spears forced Sami to put the title on the line again at SummerSlam 2024.
It will be interesting to see if Sami can once again get the better of Breakker at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
