Sami Zayn shares major SummerSlam revelation ahead of WWE RAW
WWE Superstar Sami Zayn has made a stunning SummerSlam revelation ahead of tonight's edition of RAW. This week's show will air from the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Sami Zayn defended his Intercontinental Championship against Ilja Dragunov in the main event of last week's episode of the red brand. However, Bron Breakker interfered in the match and attacked both stars.
In an interview with Kevin Tall of Wrestling Inc, Zayn shared that he has never competed in a match on the main card of WWE SummerSlam. He noted that he was on the Kickoff Show several years ago but has never had a match on SummerSlam's main card throughout his illustrious career.
"If you go back my entire career, I've had a great WrestleMania track record. SummerSlam, I've never even been on the show. I did work one SummerSlam pre-show, I want to say maybe 2015 or something. And believe it or not, it was actually the Dudley Boyz last ever match as a team. So we do all that distinction myself and Adrian Neville at the time, Pac, as he's known today," he said. Sami Zayn on if he will be competing at this year's WWE SummerSlam
RAW star Sami Zayn hopes to defend the Intercontinental Championship on the main card of this year's WWE SummerSlam.
During his conversation with Wrestling Inc., the former Bloodline member was asked about the possibility of competing at the Premium Live Event on August 3. He noted that he hasn't heard anything official, but would likely be competing against Bron Breakker and Ijla Dragunov at WWE SummerSlam if there were to be a match for the Intercontinental Championship.
"And maybe there's an off chance that I don't end up on the card again, because you're seeing more and more that the PLEs these days are smaller cards. So there's a chance that even though I'm in a great story with Breakker and now Dragunov and all this stuff, there is a chance that who knows it doesn't get on the card. I don't know. But if I am on the SummerSlam card, I'm assuming it's going to be against Bron Breakker or Ilja Dragunov or some kind of mix, unless another contender pops up in the next couple of weeks," said Zayn.
Sami Zayn defeated Bron Breakker earlier this month at WWE Money in the Bank to retain the Intercontinental Championship. Only time will tell if the 40-year-old will be booked for SummerSlam in Cleveland, Ohio next month.
